Summer Portal 2025

16-25 July 2025

Summer Portal 2025 is a 10-day boarding programme for students aged 10-13 who are passionate learners and music lovers, where music, creative problem-solving, sports and value education form the four core pillars in an integrated learning experience. The programme cultivates critical thinking, creativity and adaptability, challenging students aesthetically, intellectually and physically through which students become active agents of change.

4 Key Learning Areas

01

Music
Sing or Play?

Students are chosen by audition to join either the Choral Stream as a singer or the Chamber Music Stream as an instrumentalist (piano, violin, viola or cello). They will be mentored in private lessons and chamber music coaching in the Chamber Music Stream, or in rehearsals, masterclasses and workshops in the Choral Stream by our distinguished faculty, culminating in a spectacular concert on the graduation day of the camp.

03

Sports
Ball or Sword?

In order to ensure that students have a healthy dose of endorphins and live a balanced lifestyle, they are given the choice to participate in either basketball, table-tennis or fencing regardless of their prior experience or skill level in the chosen sport. Having fun is the name of the game!

02

Creative Problem-Solving
Speak, Craft or Design?

With artificial intelligence disrupting the world as we know it, creativity is quickly becoming one of the most essential skills for the next generation. At the Portal, students are given a set of problems to solve, depending on their personal preference in joining the Think-and-Speak module, Think-and-Craft module or Think-and-Design module.

04

Value Education
2Rs

"Be Respectful" and "Be Ready to Learn" are the pillars of our value education, which is interwoven into the fabric of the Portal experience. Be it on the topic of grit or gratefulness, perseverance or pursuit of excellence, students not only learn and reflect upon these values, but put them in action as guided by our Portal Guardian, bringing home a new level of growth-mindset and maturity.

What We Emphasize

Flow of Inspiration

Young minds at this age are impressionable, and their characters are formed not only by studying, but also by role modelling. Students interact not only with our world-class faculty but are enlightened also by our College alumni, student helpers and other esteemed guests through activities such as Masterclasses and Portal Chats throughout the camp.

Sense of Community

It has also been our cherished tradition that the Portal Choir sings in worship in the Sunday service at St. Paul's Church. At nights and on the weekend, students have ample opportunities to foster friendships through social and entertainment activities such as concerts, movie and board games nights, the much anticipated Talent Show and many more.

Parental Involvement

Last but not least, parents play a vital part in the Portal experience. Not only are they invited to be a part in some of the activities, but will also participate in the camp-end Parents’ Sharing where our Portal Guardian will guide parents to uncover new aspects of their child, post-Portal, so that the seeds sown in them shall continue to grow.

What You Take Away

Upon checkout, students will not only be richer in knowledge and skills, but also have with them confidence and gratitude in abundance. Grateful for the memories, grateful for friendships new and old, and grateful for a much-expanded horizon.
